Current Thoughts
Digital AV seems to be the new buzz word in Photography at the moment. It is now being successfully tried by seasoned photographers, who would have never previously contemplated mixing their slides with taped sound tracks. Professional Photographers are finding that the psychology of running a suitable background piece of music encourages more sales of their wedding and portrait photography. Supermarkets have been playing background "music" to us for many moons, encouraging us to relax, browse and buy more!Some professional Photographers can even run a looped AV presentation from their studio window illustrating their style and range.



Images and Sound
There is a danger that digital AV will be defined as simply adding images to a background track of music, (slide / sound shows which could easily be used as screen savers). Very few Photographers ever view many of the more complex and sophisticated AV productions available. Thankfully new digital techniques are bringing newcomers into the field of AV production. Whenever possible, it is always advisable to see the best quality work being produced. Do not assume AV is just high quality images projected to background sound. Try to attend some of the many AV Festivals, Competitions and Days organised around the country. Many sequences can now also be downloaded on the Internet.
